CH 67 - 2 3/8" Covered Trinket Box ~ Swaddling baby with Rattle

I love all of these Frozen Charlotte related items…the little swaddling babies and babies molded into tubs.

This is a little trinket box…it measures just 2 3/8" X 1 3/8" X 1 3/8". As you can see, there is some flaking paint on the dull red pillow and a few small rubs to the dark green ribbon bows…this is typical. The facial features and the gold trim were fired on, and the bright colors were painted afterwards…they are not as durable obviously.

The bottom of the box is darkened and has a factory split on one corner…does not show on the outside, but the clay body is darker there.

This sweet item is priced at $95.00

CH 66 - 2 7/8" early Frozen Charlotte ~ Creamy Tint

This is an early little Frozen Charlotte with a creamy tint. She has a nicely detailed body showing breasts, rib cage, spine, knee caps and fat rolls…more detail than normally found at this small size.

She has tiny blue eyes, black lash lines and brows, and red lid lines, nostril dots and mouth…and blushing cheeks. She has a high forehead and curls around the back of her head…a "High Brow" hairstyle…from the 1860-70s.

There is a little red and blue speckling on her back…looks like the pigments in the complexion tint were not thoroughly mixed. Front is free of any speckles.

This nice little Charlotte is priced at $185.00.

CH 65 - 4 ¼" Blond Frozen Charlotte ~ Nice Detail

This is a pretty little blond Frozen Charlotte…they are in the minority in Charlotte-land…probably 1 out of 20-30 is a blond…so that said, do they have more fun? Who knows?

At any rate she is a very nice one with great details in her painting…blue eyes, black lash lines, red lid lines, light brown brows, red mouth and nostril dots and rosy cheeks…a lot of work to use all of those separate colors! Her legs have brick red garters with bows and gold slippers…they show the usual wear to the heels and toes.

The back of her head and her derriere are unglazed…this is normal…the dolls were laid on the kiln self for the firing, so they could not be glazed in those areas to prevent sticking.

This pretty Charlotte is priced at $165.00.

CH 64 - 3 3/8" Plump Early Frozen Charlie by Kister ~ Creamy Tint

Here is another great little Frozen Charlie…he is early and is very finely painted. He is not stark white but has a soft creamy tone with just a hint of pink. The painting of his features identifies him as being made by the A. W. Fr. Kister Company.

He has blue eyes with black pupils, lash lines and brows, and fine red lid lines…all very carefully done. His cheeks are softly blushed and he has a red slightly turned up mouth and nostril dots.

His body displays all the plump rolls of fat we would choose to hide! His arms are molded out in front with his hands cupped and facing downward. There are 2 tiny black dots on the underside of his left arm…done in the making. There is the usual drain hole in his derriere.

This wonderful plump little Charlie is priced at $270.00

CH 57 - 4 ¾" Black Frozen Charlie

This little Charlie wears his factory original cotton skirt and ribbon around his neck. His eyes and mouth were painted after he was fired…with black glazes, other colors tend to burn out. He has quite a soulful look with just the whites of his eyes painted and the remnants of his full red mouth. The little skirt is tied on with black cotton tape.

His body shows slightly molded breasts, navel, shapely legs and buttocks, and his arms are molded with tight fists. His right arm appears to have been set a little differently at the factory…the arms were attached separately after the body was molded…there is a line across his upper arm under the glaze where it was attached.

This nice original boy is priced at $220.00

CH 53 - 5 ½" High Brow China Dollhouse Man

I find this little fellow very appealing with his painted mustache and wearing his worn black satin suit. He has obviously seen many loving hands in play, but is ready and capable to see a lot more. Other than surface wear to his clothes, he is in great condition with perfect tiny hands and feet...his feet have black boots with tan soles...no heels.

His black satin suit was well crafted...all hand sewn of course, with tails in back with 2 bead buttons at the waist, and the front of his coat has black 2 bead buttons on either side and a pearl on his waistcoat. At the neckline he has a black cravat with a tiny brass bead. His straight trousers are slightly separated at the hip area...he must have been walking a lot.

This dapper gent is ready to rule the roost in his own house or join an already happy family...I'm sure he will be a pleasant companion to some young lady!

He is priced at $195.00

CH 45 - 15" Highbrow China in Fabulous Original Outfit

Rarely do you find doll of this period in a totally original outfit. She is a lady and there is no doubt about it...she has a prim and very proper look about her! Her outfit is a glorious red and though it has acquired a few moth holes over the years they do not detract...it is such a complex dress with shirring, panels, darts, ruffles and trims.

The doll is in perfect condition without chips, cracks, or repairs. The body is cloth and she has china legs with black flat soled boots, and lovely delicate china hands. Her face is very fine and delicate with softly blushed cheeks...no wear and no rubs!

Her underclothes consist of camisole, pantalets, a short petticoat, and a long ruffled petticoat that is very full and tightly gathered in the back to support her skirt. Her dress is three pieces...the tightly fitted bodice (sewn shut in front), the skirt, and the gathered and shirred peplum (I guess it would be called). All are trimmed with narrow silk trim and bows...frail in places. A lace panel is inserted in the bodice and she wears a small strand of tiny clear glass beads.

This lovely doll is priced at $845.00.

CH 42 - 15" Pink Luster Frozen Charlie

I hate to call boys "beautiful", but this one is! He was made by the prestigious German firm of Conta & Boehm. He looks like a robust healthy and happy toddler! His features are so well painted and very even…blushed cheeks, sweet mouth with slightly turned up corners, and those eyes! The eyes have so much detail…light blue with tiny gray threading lines around the iris, gray lid lines and shaded black lash lines. His dark blond eyebrows go with his honey blond painted and molded hair. His hair is exceptionally nice for a Charlie…it has a lot of modeling and the back of his head shows a lot of comb marks with swirling wavy hair.

The best thing about this child is his wonderful chunky pink body that stands perfectly by itself…very solid on his feet! He has outlined nails on his hands and feet. There are no chips or cracks anywhere…but you can see lighter areas on his forearms, his back right shoulder and toes…where he was held and washed and loved by his former owners…remember these were sold as "bathing dolls".

This is the most wonderful Frozen Charlie I've ever had, and he really should be added to my collection, but he just will not fit under my dome with the others…so I hope he can join another fine collection!

He is priced at $995.00

CH 31 - 6 ½" Frozen Charlotte with Gold Slippers

This is a large Frozen Charlotte in excellent condition, only a little rubbing to the edges of her feet. She has nice outstretched hands, painted gold slippers over molded bare feet (you can see her toes), and coral garter bows below her knees. She has blue eyes, very rosy cheeks, and a sweet mouth. She has the usual rough areas on her backside where she was laid on the kiln shelf, and her right thumb is a bit short...both of these were done in the making, not considered damage. She also has 2 "beauty marks" on her "privates"...ooh-la-la!

She is priced at $255.00

This anguished looking visage is marked on the back at the base "10/22720". She is German and appears in the big encyclopedia of half dolls as MW571-351. There are a couple of little rough areas on the back under the yellow glaze, but no chips or cracks...interesting and unusual...not just another pretty face!

She is priced at $165.00.

CH 19 - 5" 'Flat Top' frozen Charlotte

What rosy cheeks this cutie has! She is 5" tall and has her hands outstretched with her shapely palms facing inward. She has a tiny 'zit' on her left cheek that you can see. Her backside is quite shapely with a definite spine. She has creases at her tush, thighs and knees and the usual unglazed patches where she was laid on the kiln self…upper back, tush, and the bottom of her legs. We have 5 other pictures of her if you'd like to see them…email us. She is priced at $195.00.
