AB 174 - 4" French or "French Type" Adorable Little Girl

Isn't she sweet? French or "French-Type" as you wish…she has the swivel neck, and long slender arms and legs of the French with two strap shoes and she is very delicate…not a chunky German child.

She has a lovely face with deep cobalt blue set glass eyes, nicely blushed cheeks, and a closed mouth. Her swivel neck, arms and legs have been re-pegged with elastic so she is good for a long time now…she will hold her pose! She has a small chip on the top of her right leg…other than that she is perfect.

She wears her original lace trimmed organdy pantalets, and a dress of old embroidered net. Her mohair wig is a new replacement…she was bald!

AB 173 - 5" Kestner Boy in fabulous Original Outfit

This beautiful little boy is looking for a playmate…he is all dressed and ready for a party in his pale blue suit embroidered in pink…what a work of art!

He is definitely a Kestner doll and probably has the mold # 130 on his head, but his wig is firmly secured so I won't tear it just to see the number. I have others with this mold # and the face is very similar. He has a lovely delicate face with painted blue eyes, rosy cheeks, and the Kestner painted mouth with the white center line…also has the Kestner dimple in his chin! He is elastic loop strung, and the stringing is tight.

His costume is wonderful…such a lovingly made suit of light blue felt embroidered with such care! It is bluer on the back and inside…the front showing a little fading, but it is minor. His little tam has a flat bow on top too…cute!

This darling boy is priced at $330.00

AB 172 - 3" Hertwig Immobile Girl with Black Cat on a Leash

More wonderful Hertwig items! The Hertwig Company made a whole series of these 3" children…both boys and girls…with their pets on leashes. They are all made about the same with a small hole drilled through their bent arm through which the green thread leash is tied…the pet being on the other end obviously. For some reason there is another larger hole drilled between the ankles…I have never seen this hole used for any purpose…the bottoms of the feet are open so it is not the drain hole.

This is the little girl with her black cat…she is scolding her kitty with her finger emphasizing her point. She's really cute with the perky molded bow in her hair!

Her painted surfaces are in good condition…this is not fired color, so they need gentle care.

AB 168 - 5" Jeanne I. Orsini Glass Eyed All Bisque "DiDi"

Here is another one of those darling and illusive little Orsini girls. This is "DiDi"…telling you a story and using her right fore finger to emphasize her point! What wonderful modeling Jeanne Orsini accomplished at such a small size! This series of dolls was designed by her 1919-1920 for the Borgfeldt Company, and produced by Alt, Beck and Gottschalck in Germany. She is marked on her back 'JIO c (copyright circle) 1920' and beneath that '41'. She has her paper label on her chest, but it is darkened and only because I know what it says, can I make out "DiDi"!

This is the more rare glass eyed version. She has dark brown set glass eyes. Her wig is original and looks good in the front, sides and lower back, but has a bare area on back top…hence the hat! Her expression is delightful with a wide smile with her teeth showing. Her face has high cheek bones, rosy cheeks, widely spaced eyes and eyebrows painted in an unusual way…a darker lower line and arched lighter top…this is typical for these dolls.

She is free from damage…those pointing fingers are frequently missing! Hers is not as straight as usual…sort of curved…but it appears to be made that way…I examined it carefully. She has the usual high white stockings and brown one-strap shoes.

She wears a simple cotton dimity dress with rose buds…and a felt hat. It looks very 20's for a child!

I have lots of extra photos…if interested in her, just ask to see them!

This charming doll books extremely high ($2500-3100), but I am able to offer her for $1595.00

AB 167 - 5" Jeanne I. Orsini Glass Eyed All Bisque "MiMi"

Here is one of those darling and illusive little Orsini girls. This is "MiMi"…telling you a story and using her right finger to emphasize her point! What wonderful modeling Jeanne Orsini accomplished at such a small size! This series of dolls was designed by her 1919-1920 for the Borgfeldt Company, and produced by Alt, Beck and Gottschalck in Germany. She is marked on her back 'JIO c (copyright circle) 1920' and beneath that '44'.

This is the more rare glass eyed version. She has dark brown eyes in the original set. Her wig is sparse but original (I would be happy to include a new replacement if you would like). Her expression is priceless with that open/closed mouth with 2 painted upper and 2 lower teeth. Her face has an unusual shape with high cheek bones, widely spaced eyes and eyebrows painted in an unusual way…a darker lower line and arched lighter top…this is typical for these dolls.

Her body is almost perfect…by some miracle…those pointing fingers are frequently missing! She has the usual high white stockings and brown one-strap shoes. There is a possible hairline behind her right ear, but I believe it to date back to her making as there is complexion tint in it, and there are no chips near it.

She wears a dress that looks original but is not…very appropriate though in pale peach silk and old lace. It looks very 20's for a child!

I have lots of extra photos…if interested in her, just ask to see them!

The Gebruder Heubach factory made several versions of these darling "Chin Chin Baby" dolls…using different style caps and in painted in different colors…they all have very cute faces!

This doll is fortunate to have his original paper label on his tummy…reading "Chin Chin Baby". This face is a favorite of mine…so sweet!

He wears a simple painted cap with a painted black design around the brim. There is a very small squiggle of paint on the left side of his head…a small slip of the brush while painting that design.

His slanting eyes are dark brown with black irises and fine eyebrows arch upwards. His tiny mouth is smiling…he's a happy boy! His little yellow slippers match his cap. His long black queue is molded down his back towards his cute little dimpled bum!

This doll with the big bright blue paperweight eyes is an unknown to me. Marked '219/10' her face looks like a Kestner with that tiny dimple in her chin, but her shapely legs and shoes with bows on the toes look like Simon & Halbig…maybe she was made for another firm?

Regardless of who made her, her quality is great! She has a swivel neck and her arms and legs are peg jointed. There is a small chip at the top edge of both legs. She has the remains (VERY sparse) of her original wig and cap under her new mohair wig.

She wears a beautifully crocheted dress and hat of soft blue with cream edging…it buttons down the front.

Her chubby early wrestler style legs have 2 strap bootines and white ribbed stockings. She has brown glass eyes in their original set. She has her original silk wig done in coiled braids over her ears…really cute!

Her costume is darling…a black net concoction with embroidered lace edging, over gauze panties and pink silk (not much left of the pink silk). Her hair is topped by a black lace cap with a fine feathered plume. I bet she was sold in France as a souvenir of the Follies!

Her clothing is sewn on so I have not tried to remove it, but there are pantalets and a petticoat under her dress. I have a little S & H swivel neck boy with these same blue sock legs so I am attributing her to that company as well.

I see no flaws…just a simple and cute little doll that could fit in anywhere!

AB 156 - 2 ¼" Hertwig Jointed & Dressed Bisque Mouse Girl ~ Very Sweet & VERY RARE!

When I started collecting these delightful Hertwig animals…probably 25 years ago, the mouse was the first one I found…I was enchanted as I had collected mouse miniatures since I was 10! This is only the second one I have ever had…I almost kept her to go with my boy, but I am trying to be good!

She has little beady black painted eyes, red outlined nose and mouth, and a soft slightly peachy muzzle…just adorable! The jointed arms and legs are shaped like those of a mouse…short and delicate front legs and hind legs with long feet…these enable her to stand…a bit of sticky wax helps if the surface is slippery.

Her little crocheted dress has a pale peach top and cream skirt with a bright thread belt. There is a cloth collar with tiny green glass beads. As usual, her tail is missing…the mice and cats all had tails…of rubber or felt? I have never seen one with the tail still present…they either broke off or were eaten by moths…always gone!

AB 153 - 3 5/8" French Type Dollhouse Nun Doll with Swivel Neck

This sweet little nun doll has a swivel neck, bright blue glass eyes, and is all original. Her head is impressed '9a' under her wimple. Her eyes are surrounded by fine lashes, her cheeks are very rosy and her little mouth is closed. She has jointed arms and legs, and the legs have black molded one strap shoes.

Her outfit is really wonderful and very complete. Starting at the inner most layers, she has white cotton pantalets and petticoat. Then she has a gown of dark blue cotton with a wide white collar. Her white cotton wimple is pleated/tightly gathered at the back of her head. Over this she has an attached black shawl/cape. At her waist she has a white beaded "rosary" with a cross of tiny brown beads…I really don't know how they threaded these tiny beads!

She would make a wonderful miniature addition to a collection of nun dolls!

AB 151 - Adorable 5" Simon & Halbig '0' ~ Swivel Neck

This little big-eyed child is just too cute…and she is so original in her lovely pink lace and ribbon trimmed dress. Her luminous dark brown eyes sleep perfectly and the lid wax is perfect too. The eyes are surrounded by tiny lashes and have single stroke brown brows. She has her original cork pate and cloth wig cap but it was bare, so I have given her a short mohair child style wig. It is topped by her child-made flowered silk chapeau!

She looks like the '886' mold, but her head is marked only '0'…her size. She has 4 tiny upper teeth and evenly blushed cheeks. She will delight you!

Her legs have the usual over-the-knee black stockings and dark brown one strap shoes with tan soles. With her swivel neck and jointed arms and legs, she is ready to go for a walk or join other children at a party…just darling! She is really in remarkably nice condition…no chips, no rubs!

AB 150 - 6" Simon & Halbig '886' ~ Swivel Neck

Isn't this a perky little girl? Her eyes are set looking to the right…cute and unusual! She is a S & H '886' mold, but her head is marked only '2'…her size...this is common on the smaller sizes. She is peg jointed and has a swivel neck…making her very pose-able.

I love the hands on these little S & H dolls…they are very childlike with spread fingers and separate thumbs. Her legs have the usual S & H over the knee black stockings with reddish brown one strap slippers with pale tan soles.

She wears a dress that looks to be mother made and original to her…fits perfectly. It is gathered at the neck and ties in back. She also has a lace timed petticoat.

I see no damage…the upper leg tint is darker that the torso, but this is the case more often than not…the parts were colored and fired separately. Her mohair wig is newer but very nice.

She is priced at $950.00.

AB 149 - 7 ½" Kestner with Dark Brown Stockings & Tan Slippers

This is the largest doll I've ever had with these great legs…and this one has dark brown stockings…they are more commonly black. She has an almost solid dome head with an uncut pate line and just a small hole in the top…it is marked '2' (I think) under the pate line. She has loop strung arms and legs…no marks on the arms and the legs are kid lined so there are no numbers visible there.

For those of you who are curious and would say she was a S & H because of her stockings…Jan Foulke found these dolls illustrated in old Kestner advertising. If examined carefully, the texture of the stockings is different also…the Kestner hose have vertical dotted lines, while the S & H legs have shirred/checked horizontal lines.

She has an unusual face…quite pale with lightly blushed cheeks, bright blue eyes, no lashes, black lash lines, red lid lines and single stroke dark blond brows. Her mouth is lovely…light coral with a very dark red center line. Her wig is original…wefted mohair on a gauze cap…a little thin but still very presentable!

She wears a wonderful cotton copy of an antique child's dress, very appealing and beautifully made with hooks down the back. I find her to be a very real looking child!

This nice large girl is priced at $725.00.

AB 148 - 5 ¼" French Type Boy in Formal Attire ~ All Original

One doesn't often see a doll as pristine as this…he was obviously never played with…just packed away awaiting to be re-discovered. He must have been meant to be in a wedding…perhaps the ring bearer? Under his right arm is tacked a little gathered circle of cream colored satin…the pillow for the ring?

He is a nice slim French type all bisque with a swivel neck. He has bright blue set glass eyes, surrounded by lashes and with single stroke brows. His cheeks are very rosy…he's probably hot in his wool suit…and his fabulous curly mohair wig is still firmly attached to his head….I have not tried to loosen it to see marks…it would just damage the wig!

His suit is black felt of very high quality…thin and firm. His waistcoat is pique with 2 white glass beads as buttons. His shirt has a gold (brass) stud and a little bow tie.

He'd make a great dollhouse man or an elegant companion to a nice all bisque girl! He is priced at $925.00.

AB 147 - 5 ½" All bisque Kestner with Black Stockings and Tan Slippers with Blue Bows

I have had several variations of this doll…they usually have painted eyes, but this one has brown glass eyes in their original set. The stockings can be dark brown or black…this one has black…but what they all have in common are lovely little tan healed slippers with blue bows on the toes and black heels.

This little one has set brown eyes with fine lashes all around, and multi-stroke delicate brows. The only marking I found was on her head…marked just with her size '2/0'. Her mohair wig is pretty and a new replacement as is her stylish dress (she came to me buff naked and hairless)…beneath her polka dot frock are pantalets of old embroidered batiste.

This pretty little girl is priced at $550.00

AB 146 - 8 ½" All bisque Sailor Boy in Original Outfit

This boy has a rather soulful look…created by the pupils painted high in his eyes. His blond hair is well molded with lots of detail in the curls. He also has very detailed hands with long cupped fingers, separate thumbs…and beautifully molded palms. The rest of his body, along with any possible marks, is hidden under his wonderful linen (once white) sailor suit. His legs have ribbed white stockings with blue bands, and one strap black shoes with tan soles.

His clothing is somewhat darkened with age but great, nevertheless! His middy top has dark blue collar and cuffs and a black tie…he has a red chevron on his left sleeve and there are stitched white lines along the edge of the collar and cuffs. His cap is banded and tied with the same black grosgrain ribbon.

My guess is that this doll for dressed for a child whose father was off in the navy during war time.

The tips of the first 3 fingers of his left hand are chipped.

AB 143 - Unusual 6 ½" Kestner Swivel-Neck ~ Mold # 172

There is a group of rare little Kestner all bisques that you rarely see…they must not have been as popular as some of the other models so not as many were made? This closed mouth child is one of them and she has been in my collection for many years. Her head is marked '172 0', her arms '0' and her legs are kid lined so I can't see, but they appear to be the same legs that Kestner used on the popular '150' dolls. She has her plaster pate inside (and still attached to) her blond mohair wig. Her blue sleep eyes have perfect lids, her brows are multi-stroke and blond, cheeks are rosy, tiny rosebud mouth and the Kestner dimple in her chin!

Her chubby body is perfect…no chips, cracks or repairs. It is properly strung and she is very pose-able with her swivel neck. She wears a cotton slip and a pale aqua cotton print dress…very flattering with her delicate coloring.

She has blue sleep eyes with perfect lids, dimpled rosy cheeks, and that great open laughing mouth with 2 lower teeth.

Her chubby toddler body is perfect…no chips, cracks or repairs. It is newly strung and she is very pose-able with her swivel neck. She wears a cotton petticoat and a lovely peach colored soft silk dress…just goes perfectly with her delicate coloring.

All of her parts are marked '30 5 ½', and she has no damage of any sort.

Her long pantalets are original but her dress set is a great crocheted replacement…just perfect on her and it shows off her pale bisque complexion.

AB 140 - 5 3/8" Fine Early Boy '12-13'

This is a nice early all-bisque boy in a wonderful little original crocheted suit. He is jointed at the shoulders and hips with knotted twine…it looks to be original and it's strong. His back is impressed '12-13'…this type of mark was used both by Kling and Gebr. Kuhnlenz, but his perky little nose says KLING to me.

The molding is very nice with molded lid lines, soft curls around the face and comb lines across the back of the head. He has unusually nice hands for his size also…well defined! His sturdy legs have black boots and dull red garter lines.

His outfit is truly wonderful…very finely crocheted Black jacket over black trousers with an attached maroon "vest" with black "buttons" and a tan insert at the top…this is sewn together at the back top and not easily removed. His maroon cap has a black pom-pom on top…very cute!

AB 139 - 4 ¾" Horsman "SHEbee" with her Original Paper Label

This is the middle size of this adorable character doll…just 4 ¾" (the books say 5" but I think I am more accurate) tall. She still has her original paper chest label "Copyright by Charles Twelvetrees ~ HEbee SHEbee Trademark".

"HEbees" (blue shoes) and "SHEbees" (pink shoes) were designed by Charles Twelvetrees and produced by Horsman in 1925. The 1920s were remarkable for all of the delightful character dolls that were made during that decade. These have a wonderfully simple comic look to them.

The head and torso are molded together…what a face! She has bright blue eyes with tiny white highlight dots, a tiny button nose and funny little turned down mouth…fat rosy cheeks! The modeling at the back of the neck is great with the fat folds…the profile is fantastic! The white molded shift has a squared neckline…impressed "Germany" on the underside of the back between the legs. The arms are precious with the right hand in a fist and the forefinger pointing…the left hand is open. The fat little legs fit into the bottom of the torso and are strung together with the arms. The original yarn bows (shoe laces) have been lost.

This darling is priced at $650.00

This is the smallest size of this adorable character doll…just 4". She miraculously still has her tiny original cloth bib…I'm sure they were taken off and lost immediately as they are very difficult to tie on, even for tiny fingers!

She has bright blue eyes, a tiny button nose and funny little turned down mouth…fat rosy cheeks! The white molded shift has a squared neckline…impressed "Germany" at the top in back, and "50" at the bottom front between the legs. The arms are precious with the right hand in a fist and the forefinger pointing…the left hand is open. The fat little legs fit into the bottom of the torso and are strung together with the arms. The original yarn bows (shoe laces) have been lost and replaced. There is a miniscule pin prick hole on the top of the head…had to have been done in the making, but I don't know how…it is too small to have been a burst bubble…hard to see!

This tiny cutie is priced at $550.00

AB 137 - 5" Very Rare BABY BO KAYE Character Doll

This little tyke is one of the rarest all bisque dolls…it is very seldom seen. He was designed by Joseph J. Kallus for George Borgfeldt, and produced by Alt, Beck and Gottschalck in 1925. He still has the original paper label on his chest, although is has darkened and is hard to read beyond his name "Baby Bo Kaye".

He is built very much the same as the all bisque Bonnie Babes, with a flange swivel neck cut away in the back (to make room to get in for setting the sleep eyes). His tiny eyes are blue with delicate lashes and soft smudges of brows. His little mouth is adorable with a protruding upper lip and 2 lower teeth…impossible to photograph! His very fat cheeks are softly blushed. The flange neck is marked on the flange in front with his size in cms…13.

His cute chubby arms have great little hands…the right one is molded with separate thumb and little finger…the left hand has separate thumb, forefinger and little finger. His chunky legs have white socks and blue slippers. He wears a blue plaid shirt that was probably made by first mommy.

This happy toddler is priced at $1495.00

AB 134 - 5" French Mignonette in Her Presentation Box with Extras

This is an exceptionally pretty little 5" French mignonette, in her original presentation box with extra dresses.

Her bisque is perfect…and what a gorgeous face! She is the prettiest one of these I have ever had! I love her cobalt blue glass eyes, and her long frizzy blond original wig. Her pegged stringing is tight so she is ready to display. Her legs have white stockings and pink boots…so cute!

She is shown in her chemise with pantalets under…she also has extra pantalets and petticoat with matching lace trim, and a pale pink coat dress as well as a pale aqua with silk "buttons" and lace trim. A felt hat and tiny white leather shoes and stockings fill the top compartment.

This would be a lovely centerpiece for an all bisque collection! Ask to see other pictures if you are interested!

This wonderful doll is priced at $3850.00

AB 133 - 4 ½" Gebr. Kuhnlenz Black All Bisque Child

Here is another darling black barefoot all bisque by Gebr. Kuhnlenz…she is a smaller version of the 7" one with her trunk. Her head is marked 164 / 3 ½. She has a one piece head/body with loop strung jointed arms and legs. She has her original plaster pate inside her original wool wig, set dark brown glass eyes, a sweet little closed mouth painted red, with matching red dots in her nostrils, and black painted brows.

She wears what appears to be her original "mommy-made" outfit of white cotton…her dress has lace around the gathered neck, her bonnet ties under her chin, and short pantalets make her proper!

I have extra photos of her if you are interested.

She is priced at $750.00

AB 131 - 7" Gebr. Kuhnlenz Black All Bisque with Trunk and Wardrobe

What an adorable barefoot all bisque child! She is a Gebr. Kuhnlenz I am sure…the shape of her legs and hands is identical to that of a 9 ½" doll (marked '61') that I have…but what is perplexing is the mold number on her head…that appears to be 164 / 1, not the expected '61'. This is a common occurrence in the antique doll world, but it is also what keeps it fun and exciting…always the perplexing and the unknown! She has a one piece head/body with loop strung jointed arms and legs. Her lovely large dark brown eyes should sleep but the setting does not allow that. She has her original plaster pate inside her original wool wig. She has 4 upper teeth inside her sweet little mouth, finely brushed brows, and delicate lashes.

This darling doll comes with her trunk full of goodies including her factory original moss green dress with a white pinafore, and her original white nightgown with red braid trim. The green dress is wonderful on her but I love the gold/yellow silk with lace trim…so bright and sunny! She has 2 hats…one is black felted paper with metallic trim, and the other is silk over paper with a red and black silk bow. There are also 3 later handmade dresses and a white blouse to go with some red pants (definitely newer). There is also a very cute little stitched together book "Miss Mousie" copyright by G G Drayton…a cut-out from a magazine of the times. Trunk is in pretty good condition with a little paper loss and replaced leather handles.

I have plenty of extra photos of her if you are interested.

She is priced at $1795.00

AB 130 - 4 ½" All bisque Doll with Pincushion Hat

This cute doll was dressed in the softest peach satin (and pompoms of silk ribbon) as a clown…a sewing accessory! Her hat is stuffed for pins!

She is marked SWC 257 over 12…SWC is one of those unknown German makers…no one has been able to find definitive information on the company. She is perfect…what I can see anyway…has painted features, and an open mouth with cut teeth. Her original wig is in a loose braid down her back.

She is cute as a button just as she is…I'd hate to start stabbing her with pins!

She is priced at $265.00

AB 128 - 5" Gebruder Heubach Googly Character

What a doll! Isn't he cute? Heubach did some wonderful little character children…some with the stiff hips and pointed shoes, others with jointed arms and legs…this fellow is one of the fully jointed ones. He wears a sweet old dress of dotted Swiss with featherstitching at the hem

His face is so bright and happy with his big wide-open eyes with thickly painted eyelashes. His very blond hair is painted with fine brush strokes all around his head…hard to see perhaps but almost like a halo. There is a slight rub to his right cheek, and a larger one to his left.

I love the Heubach hands…they are very distinctive with the middle 2 fingers always molded together…the detail on such a small scale is amazing! Note the darling feet too with the big toes slightly separated. The little notch you can see at the hip of his right leg is not a chip…it is the stringing groove in the mold.

This charmer is priced at $375.00

AB 124 - 7" All Bisque 'Bonnie Babe' Boy

This is the largest size of the all bisque 'Bonnie Babe'...it is rare and very hard to find. The neck flange, arms and legs are all marked with '17'...the size only. The inside of the leg also has the number 897. He is in perfect condition and adorable. As you can see, he retains most of his paper chest label.

This wonderful face was designed by Georgene Averill in 1926, and since the larger heads, made for cloth-bodied babies, were made by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck, it is assumed that the all bisque toddlers were also made by them.

The head has great molded curls all around in light reddish brown, dimpled cheeks, blue sleep eyes, incredibly fine eyelashes, and an adorable mouth in a big twisted grin showing off two lower teeth.

The body is super with darling chubby arms with spread fingers, and stocky fat legs with white ribbed socks and blue one-strap slippers. He wears a carefully crocheted little romper suit in blue and white and a matching little sleeveless vest over that.

This extra rare and darling child is priced at $1670.00 SALE PENDING

AB 122 - 2 ½" Pair French "Peek-a-Boo" All-Bisques

This tiny pair are in remarkably original condition...doesn't appear that they were played with at all. Their costumes and wigs are in place and undamaged except for a little bite out of the hem area on her jacket back. They both have coiled medusa-style blond mohair wigs...hers is topped with the tiniest straw hat with a red bow at the back!

They are both fully jointed with swivel necks, have painted features...he has brown eyes, hers are blue...and both have reddish brown painted boots. Under her cotton-lined coral silk skirt she has lacy underwear! He has 4 tiny brass bead buttons on his vest. His jointing is a little loose, but he displays very well.

Remember that these are only 2 ½" tall...probably half (or less) the size you see them!

They are priced at $575.00 for the pair.

AB 121 - 8 ½" All Bisque Kestner '208'

Here is another 8 ½" Kestner all-bisque...this one is a red head...her mohair wig is a replacement but it is lovely and suits her complexion perfectly! She has brown sleep eyes and dark red-brown brows, and rather highly blushed cheeks. She has lovely hands with separate thumbs, and legs with the usual white stockings with blue garter bands and black one-strap shoes with tan soles.

Her clothing is all original and fabulous! Her dress has stripes of light blue, tucks at the hem, and lace on the bodice, neck and cuffs...it is all hand sewn (by a skilled person) and buttons at the back. Her underwear is great too...one piece camisole/drawers with a petticoat over...both have tucks and lace trims.

As to any faults, she has lost most of her eyelid wax, and there are several rubs to her cheeks...still a very appealing little girl!

She is priced at $695.00.

AB 117 - 4 ¾" All Bisque 'Bonnie Babe'

These little Bonnie Babes are among my favorites...so cute and such great detail! This size is sometimes listed as 5" but it is really 4 ¾". The neck flange, arms and legs are all marked with '11'...the size only. The inside of the leg also has the number 897. She is in almost perfect condition...with just one miniscule flake at the neck edge.

The body is super with darling chubby arms with spread fingers, and stocky fat legs with white ribbed socks and pink one-strap slippers. She wears her original little light yellow dotted Swiss dress with top stitching in pink silk at the neck, arms and pocket.

This rare and darling child is priced at $1050.00.

AB 112 - 3" MIBS ~ Louis Amberg & Son ~ 1921

Only 3" tall, but what a cute little character doll! Mibs was designed by Hazel Drucker in 1921. She has a wistful expression with molded hair with a curl on the center of her forehead and an upturned bob in back...sweet and childlike. She is so cute nude that she is rarely seen dressed. This little one is fortunate to still have her label (though the top part is hard to read)...it says "Please love me...I'm MIBS".

Her back is impressed "C" in a circle (copyright) LA&S Co - Germany. She has no damage but an extra bit of brown shoe color is on her sock (right inside leg)...this is only seen from the back...there is also a tiny thin line of that brown on her tush.

She is priced at $245.00

AB 105 - 3 ½" Early Kestner with Blue Stockings

This little beauty has a magnificent original wig! Kestner used these fabulous frizzy blond wigs on their better early and tiny dolls. I've had many of them and they are always made the same way with bows at the top and bottom...really sweet. It is on a gauze wig cap.

The doll is adorable too! She has a slightly turned head, set blue glass eyes (no lashes on these early ones), lovely soft rosy cheeks and a tiny coral mouth. She has peg-jointed arms and legs...delicate cupped hands, and legs with shirred blue stockings, dark brown strapped slippers with tiny heels and tan soles. There is no damage to any of her bisque parts.

She wears a simple child-made dress of coral (probably cotton but rather silky), a pink under-dress, silky diaper sort of panties, and a cotton apron.

This delicate little girl is priced at $325.00

AB 102 - 3 ¾" Glass-eyed All Original Swiss Girl

This is a wonderful little doll in the detailed costume of the Canton of Berne, Switzerland. She has a pretty little face with dark brown glass set eyes, fine lashes all around, a sweet tiny mouth and softly blushed cheeks. She is perfect too, with no damage anywhere.

Her graceful hands, and legs with brown mid-calf stockings, and black heeled slippers with one strap, lead me to believe that she was made by Simon & Halbig. I am not about to remove her perfect wig, with long blond mohair braids still tied with the original black silk, to see if her head is marked. Her black velvet bonnet is tied over that also. Her limbs are pegged so she is fairly early also.

Her costume is quite elaborate starting with lace trimmed pantalets and petticoat, a fine black wool skirt with red binding at the hem, cotton blouse with puffed sleeves and tucked bodice, red sateen apron, and the pretty black velvet vest with beaded flowers on the front. Metallic cord steps in to represents the fine chains that normally are seen going under the arms with this costume.

She is just a great miniature doll in fabulous condition!
She is priced at $330.00

AB 100 - 3 ¼" Pair Hertwig Flapper Girls ~ Adorable and All Original!

It's nice to find these little dollhouse dolls that have been packed away for decades! They are clean and wear bright costumes. They are a perfect pair with bows on opposite sides of the hats, but matching flower decorations on their vests.

These are definitely products of the clever and diverse Hertwig Company...from the late 20s or 30s. The girl in orange has "Germany" impressed on her right inner thigh...the one in blue may be unmarked. They are usually impressed on their backs as well, but with the clothing sewn on, you can't see the back at all.

They are the usual pre-tinted pink bisque that Hertwig used for all of these little dolls. They are free of any damage, and ready to join your doll collection, or your dollhouse family.

The pair is priced at $235.00

AB 88 - 5 ¼" Sleep-Eyed Kling Girl

This little girl was made by Kling…her head has typical Kling cut at the crown and is impressed "65 (bell) 12". She also is identifiable as a Kling by her brick pattern stockings. Her brown 2-strap shoes also have a pattern to them…alligator??… plain un-textured heels and tan soles. She has dark brown sleep eyes with the original wax and set, but they seem to need a little assist to close…the weight just isn't heavy or long enough. She has the early heavy brass wire jointing.
The tips of the first two fingers of her left hand are chipped on the cupped inside…hardly noticeable.

She wears a new polka dot silk dress and lace panties…all set to party!

She is priced at $325.00

AB 84 - Wonderful Clown Squirter Doll by Carl Schneider

In case you are unfamiliar with these, the top of the head has a rubber bulb (usually long gone) and it was removed to fill the hollow body with water, when the bulb was replaced and squeezed the boy would "pee" in a nice arc! This amazingly still has the rubber bulb, but it has hardened and can no longer be squeezed without destroying it.
He is 3 7/8" tall and is impressed on his lower legs in back...3435. This is a typical Hertwig number, and the style and work are typical of the Hertwig factory too. He is perfect!

He is priced at $195.00

AB 62 - German Comic Nodder ~ UNCLE BIM

This is a wonderful 3 7/8" German bisque comic nodder (or knotter, as some prefer) made by the great Hertwig & Co. This dapper gent is UNCLE BIM and I would call his condition near mint...he has been restrung, so he is very easy to pose. He is mounted on an old cardboard disk, as were several others from this collection. There is a tiny slight rub on his right elbow and another on the bottom of his jacket. He is marked on his back "UNCLE BIM / Germany".

He is priced at $175.00.
